Role Overview
As a Product Development Senior Scientist, you will lead end-to-end product innovation and development projects in skin care, cosmetic, and oral care categories. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, formulate, and commercialize new products, ensuring regulatory compliance, consumer safety, and product performance. This is a leadership role for a hands-on innovator who thrives in a fast-paced, solution-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
✔Lead the formulation and development of new and innovative personal care products (skin care, cosmetics, oral care).
✔Translate client briefs, market trends, and consumer insights into viable product concepts.
✔Conduct ingredient research and collaborate with suppliers to identify cutting-edge raw materials.
✔Create prototypes and conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing.
✔Ensure formulations meet regulatory standards, brand specifications, and quality benchmarks.
✔Work closely with marketing, regulatory, QA/QC, packaging, and manufacturing teams throughout the development lifecycle.
✔Provide technical support during scale-up and production trials.
✔Mentor junior scientists and assist in building technical capabilities within the R&D team.
✔Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and scientific advancements.

Hard Skills
✔Expertise in formulation chemistry for skin care, cosmetic, and/or oral care products.
✔Strong knowledge of raw materials, INCI nomenclature, preservatives, and active delivery systems.
✔Experience with lab equipment, prototype batching, and performance testing.
✔Familiarity with global regulatory requirements (FDA, BIS, EU, ASEAN, etc.).
✔Proficiency in MS Office and formulation/documentation software.

Education
B.Tech / M.Tech Cosmetics

Preferred Experience
✔6+ years of relevant experience in product development within the personal care, cosmetic, or oral care industry.
✔Proven track record of successful product launches and innovations.
✔Experience working in a private label manufacturing or contract development setting is a strong plus.
